Staples Canada Proud to Support Ontario Teachers Through New Classroom Supplies Fund

Portal on eway.ca includes hundreds of items identified by teachers as most important to support their work

Richmond Hill, ON, September 1, 2026 — Staples Canada is pleased to announce the Classroom Supplies Fund ordering portal is now live, providing eligible elementary school teachers in Ontario direct access to essential classroom materials through a program delivered on behalf of the Government of Ontario.

Headquartered in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Staples Canada employs close to 11,000 Canadians from coast to coast, including 4,000 in Ontario.

"We are proud to have the opportunity to bring this program to Ontario elementary teachers," said Chris Saniga, Chief B2B Officer, Staples Canada. "This builds on the work Staples has done alongside Canadian educators and school boards for decades. Supporting teachers in this province is core to who we are as a business, and we welcome the chance to work with the Ontario government to provide this innovative new program.”

There are hundreds of competitively priced items in the program that are identified clearly on the Classroom Supplies Fund portal at eway.ca. Those items were determined through Supply Ontario’s survey of approximately 25,000 Ontario elementary teachers, who identified the products they need most. Supply Ontario ran a competitive process with Staples Canada providing the best bid, including both its competitive pricing for those items and ability to deliver a seamless shopping experience for teachers in the busy back to school period.

“These are the supplies teachers rely on, and we’re committed to offering the best pricing and most consistent value on these core items," continued Saniga. “We are pleased to have been able to work with Supply Ontario to ensure teachers’ $750 goes as far as possible; the prices for the items will be very competitive and, in most cases, significantly below market. Beyond the items identified through the survey, teachers will also have access to a broader assortment of complementary products, providing added choice and convenience.

Staples Canada has a long-standing commitment to supporting teachers, schools, and communities across Ontario and throughout the country, including programs like its annual Staples School Supply Drive, which has raised close to $20 million since its launch in 2005 to equip Canadian students with the tools they need to succeed. In addition, the free Staples Teacher Membership Program offers free perks and savings on classroom supplies and more to parent educators, home teachers, private and public-school teachers, staff, and faculty from grades K-12, colleges, and universities from coast to coast.

With the Classroom Supplies Fund portal now open, Staples Canada reinforces its commitment to supporting elementary teachers by providing access to the supplies and resources they need to build thriving classroom environments.
